Storeboard/Rank Check

Where does your app actually rank?

Paste your app and a keyword. See your exact position in Apple's top 200 search results, who sits above you — and how the same keyword treats you in all 37 storefronts, automatically.

Free · runs in your browser · no account, nothing stored · iPhone & Mac apps

iPhone or Mac is detected from the app itself — Mac apps are checked against the Mac search index, where they actually compete.

How to read your rank

Top 10 is the game

Most App Store searchers never scroll past the first screen. #1–3 collect the downloads, #4–10 get the overflow, and everything past ~#50 is technically ranked and practically invisible. The fix isn't mysterious: a stronger name, better screenshots, and the keyword actually present in your indexed fields.

Rank is per-country

Apple runs a separate ranked list per storefront. An app stuck at #40 in the US can sit top-3 in Germany or Japan with far less competition — which is why the one-click country comparison here is usually the most interesting number on the page, and why localizing your listing is the cheapest ranking lever there is.

Look at who's above you

A #12 behind two abandoned apps with a handful of ratings is a very different situation from a #12 behind Duolingo. The report shows the apps holding the positions directly above yours, with their rating moat, age, and whether they've stopped shipping updates.

Honest about the method

The check reads Apple's public search API — the same ranked list the App Store serves that storefront, capped at the API's top 200. "Not in the top 200" means exactly that, not "nowhere". An individual phone's results can be nudged slightly by personalization; the list here is the neutral one.

Today's rank is a snapshot

Ranks move daily as competitors ship updates and Apple reweights. One check tells you where you stand; a trend tells you whether your last release worked. Storeboard snapshots your rank for every tracked keyword daily, per storefront, on your Mac — no backend, no subscription.

Privacy: the check runs in your browser and talks only to itunes.apple.com — the same public endpoint the App Store itself uses. Nothing you type reaches us or gets stored.

Stop checking by hand

Storeboard tracks your rank for every keyword you care about, daily, across every storefront you sell in — and helps you fix the listing when the trend goes the wrong way.
